  1. 4000 KM wow! congratulations!

    • Thanks Sumeet! The tripmeter crossed 4000 Kilometers when I crossed Delhi into Noida. It was an emotional moment and a feeling of some achievement when I looked at the tripmeter. Hence I took those snaps. Suddenly all the travel through remote jungles of belgaum during my lone journey, travel through the western ghats, the late night drives, night stay at over a dozen hotels alone and away from family etc. culminated into this one moment. I guess you being a traveler you can undestand the same.

      • Commendable achievement! I can truly empathize what went through you when that odo reached 4K. Go on buddy! hit that 10K soon. Good luck.

  2. Hey Sajit, hope you completed the trip safely and successfully. Didn’t get any update from your end, so thought of leaving this message. I was eager to know how did it all go till the end. You probably need to catch up with other things in life, so i won’t trouble you by demanding updates, but i’m too eager to know your experience till the end. KMs don’t matter so much at the end, what matters is the time spent with one-self. I’m sure those treasure moments are worth remembering.

    • Hi Sumeet – Yes, I completed the trip. I had to do two major rerouting and cut short the route to make it back to Bangalore on time – primarily due to some bad stretch of roads that I encountered on the way. So some lessons learnt here that the road conditions matter the most when calculating the distance to be covered in a particular day. But the positive side of it was the bad stretch of roads gave me an opportunity to do some off-roading – which is definitely fun but it restricts the distance that one can cover. There were days when I could easily cover 630 KMS on 4 lane highways whereas at other times covering 220 KMs in a day got pretty tough due to the condition of the roads. My Road trip completed at 8022 Kilometers (5000 Miles) at Bangalore. But yes the trip was real fun and a lot of learning along the way and could get a close feel of the diverse and rich culture – heritage of India.

The positive side from the Infrastructure perspective is that many places in India already have very good road infrastructure in place and in most of the other places I noticed that the 4 lane highways were under construction and even major road repairs were underway in majority of other places. Looking at the scenario I can confidently say that the road infrastructure across India will be pretty good in a few years from now (presently it’s already so in many places across India). So attempting an All India Road Trip, in say 2 to 3 years from now could be much more fun due to an added advantage of good road infrastructure.

I have thousands of photographs waiting to be posted. I concentrated more on capturing photographs and videos in the second half of my trip – and hence I have a lot more photographs to be shared from the second half of the trip. I was unable to post the same for long due to my concentration on the trip as I had ran short on time. I will start posting all the photographs, videos and other article posts soon.

Thanks again for checking with me about the trip.
